New Spill Center Client, HydroChemPSC, Welcomed Aboard

HydroChemPSC, a nation-wide provider of environmental services, industrial cleaning solutions, maintenance services and technology solutions, has become the latest client of Spill Centerâ„¢, a North American leader in spill support and environmental claims management.

Spill Center’s new client company was formed in October 2017, when Houston-based PSC, serving the needs of the critical energy infrastructure in the U.S., acquired HydroChem, whose core services include hydroblasting, industrial vacuuming, chemical and tank cleaning and paint booth management.

The combined company operates over 90 facilities across the country with more than 5,500 employees, providing emergency response, soft dig (hydro or air) services, manhole/vault cleaning, waste management as well as industrial cleaning services to its clients in the petrochemical, oil refining and other energy end-markets.

HydroChemPSC clients notify Spill Center whenever a spill occurs, anywhere in the U.S., and Spill Center relays the spill’s location and information needed to launch an immediate response by a HydroChemPSC location.

Jeff Landis, HydroChemPSC Director of Sales, Environmental Management Program (EMP) – East, welcomed the addition of Spill Center to the company’s resources. Before the merger, PSC had been a long-time client of Spill Center, he noted.

“Our counterpart on the West Coast, EMP-West, had been using Spill Center successfully for years. Spill Center has been very responsive and reliable, receiving calls from PSC clients who require immediate spill response and relaying the information to PSC,” he remarked.

Electric utility companies are a specialty market of HydroChemPSC, which provides emergency response after pole-top and pad-mount transformer spills, large substation spills and other types of spill emergencies. The company also provides managed waste disposal and environmental maintenance services. A major client is a large electrical utility in California which notifies Spill Center for over a thousand spills each year.

Spill Center, whose call center is open 24/7, 365 days a year, plays a critical role in those spill events by supporting HydroChemPSC with advanced communications technology and proprietary systems. A secure mobile app, TERRA, is a valuable tool in reporting spills. It provides HydroChemPSC’s clients with the ability to instantly report spills using a mobile device by automatically transmitting the location of the spill and client information to Spill Center’s call center.

Spill Center President, Tom Moses, who founded the company in 1990 as a resource for companies at risk for environmental spills, is confident Spill Center can help HydroChemPSC be more responsive than ever to its clients.
