Whenever Spill Center™ is notified of a spill by a client, we swing into immediate action to assess the situation, establish what is needed to manage the spill and determine who requires spill reports. We then research and provide the client with the names of available cleanup contractors in the vicinity of the spill. No job is too big or too small when our client’s business reputation is at stake.
One of our clients is in the business of supplying cleaning products and sanitizers to customers throughout the USA. Recently, two jugs of a caustic liquid product had ruptured and the customer didn’t want to handle it. Our client notified us and requested that we contact a contractor to pick up and dispose of the jugs. We arranged to have a contractor collect the product and dispose of it in an environmentally safe fashion. The client could rest easy that the incident was handled efficiently and professionally. No spill reports were required.
At the other extreme, we have clients with fleets running throughout North America who call us as often as 10 times a month to manage spills and complete required reports. Other clients have their own teams to handle small spills; they call Spill Center for major environmental incidents.
One fleet running 600 tractors hauling bulk commodities, including hazardous material and crop- protection products through 48 states, Canada and Mexico, calls us to handle hazmat and diesel releases, 8 to 10 times a year. We handle everything from contractor dispatch, verbal and written regulatory reporting, disposal, invoice auditing and any other job that is required to close the incident.
Spill Center is equipped to mount appropriate responses for environmental spills big and small, controlling costs for the client, minimizing damage to the environment, and keeping clients out of trouble with the environmental authorities for non-compliance with reporting regulations.
Our agency database lists contacts and reporting regulations for some 30,000 jurisdictions throughout North America. Our contractor database lists more than 3,000 environmental cleanup contractors who are equipped to quickly respond to accidental spills requiring cleanup. Spill Center receives no compensation from contractors. The listings are provided as a service to our clients.
